Puerto Rico is a beautiful island with diverse topography and an easy drive to the ocean. Residents are easy-going and the entire experience is very relaxing. The Renewed Hope / Esperanza Renovada organization provides retreat cabins in beautiful Puerto Rico, giving cancer survivors and their families the opportunity to escape the stress of the intense medical environment.

We began with one cabin in Maricao and have added another site in San German allowing more stays per year to cancer survivors and their families. San German was chosen for the expansion because of the wide variety of sights to visit in the area. The historic city was the first capitol of Puerto Rico, one of the first European established towns in the world, and the site of the first church built in the western hemisphere. Some of the most beautiful beaches in Puerto Rico are found on the south and west shores, the Caribbean side of the island. The mountainous area of the southwest is known for coffee and fruit farms and breathtaking scenery.
